History of Byrons
Mick Byron established Byrons in 1973 in Morecambe, he introduced
new and innovative ideas 30 years ago and his style and forward
thinking is stamped on the salon on Church Street, Lancaster.
In 1973 when he opened the salon he was the most expensive hair
stylist in the north of England, he charged £2.75 for a cut
and finish and highlights were £4.50.
The business was so successful he expanded into Lancaster and in
1980 opened the Church Street Salon, the property was dilapidated
so it was given a complete face lift and renovation.
Mick constantly went away on courses, always improving his business.
Training of staff was one of his priorities and many of the staff
that he trained went on to open their own salons.
In 1983 Damside Street Barbers
was opened, running alongside the already successful shop on Church
Street.
Some five years later Byrons 'invaded the Lakes' with a salon opening
on New Road in Kendal, this flourished and, once again provided
Kendal with highly trained and talented stylists.
Bringing us back in a full circle to present day Byrons on 54 Church
Street, which is new, improved and packed with wonderful staff,
loyal clients and fond memories. Rochelle Byron, senior hairstylist
is keeping the Byrons spirit alive at 54 Church Street.
